A Texan fighting for Texans.

My family has been in Texas since the 18th century when Texas was a colonial Spanish territory.  The Garza and Ruiz families were farmers and ranchers in and around the Atascosa area. Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, I have always enjoyed traveling the countryside, flipping through the county records to learn about my family, and visiting the old haunts of my ancestors. While growin up in Texas, I attended the University of Texas at San Antonio and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy Cum Laude. During my senior year as an undergraduate, I was chosen as the recipient of a scholarship to the Summer Law Academy at the University of Texas at San Antonio. The Summer Law Academy was designed to challenge overachieving students with the rigors of law school in preparation for a career in law. After successful completion of the program, I went on to attend St. Mary’s University School of Law. I’ve been fighting for individuals in Bexar, Wilson and surrounding counties ever since.

Currently, I’m an assistant county attorney for the Wilson County Attorney’s Office. I also manage my own private practice, The CPR LAW FIRM. During the week, I’m a part-time professor at a local university in San Antonio, Texas. My areas of practice are probate, including wills and estate planning, and personal injury. I’m a member of the following organizations and licensed as follows:

  1. San Antonio Bar Association;
  2. San Antonio Trial Lawyers Association;
  3. State Bar Family Law Section;
  4. State Bar Litigation Section;
  5. State Bar Real Estate, Probate and Trust Section;
